The true value of befriending

DINA NAYERI

Watch Iranian author and HostNation trustee Dina Nayeri in conversation with our founder Anneke Elwes.

Dina's family escaped from Iran when she was eight years old and eventually found asylum in the US. Dina is a storyteller of the refugee experience, well known for her book 'The Ungrateful Refugee'. Her most recent work is "Who gets believed", examining why honest asylum seekers are often treated as liars. She and Anneke discuss the value of befriending as an essential way to make refugees feel welcome and part of our communities.
