HANIFAH, SAOUD & PINAR
Three people who have come to London to seek refuge explain what having a HostNation friend means to them.
For Saoud, it has made him feel "relevant" he says, as his befriender values him and keeps him up to date with what's going on in his life. For Hanifah, having a local beside her has given her the comfort she lacked when she was alone: "Everything is new to you and you need that confidence to be able to reach out." And for Pinar, the importance of a friend is fundamental:
"We are human beings, we can't be alone. We need someone just next to us whom we can talk to."
